A small-screen puzzle returns to the spotlight with Mole Mania
Nintendo's October library recap offers a reason to look again at puzzles built around a tiny set of actions.
What was announced
Nintendo's October 29 membership recap lists Mole Mania among the games added to its Game Boy library. Nintendo's game description explains the central twist: Muddy Mole can dig underground to find a different route through obstacles. This is a catalogue update for members, rather than a newly announced remake.
Why the idea caught our attention
The interesting lesson is how one extra movement rule can change an entire map. When a surface route appears blocked, the useful question becomes whether the same position has another layer. That habit transfers to any compact logic puzzle: identify which restrictions are permanent and which depend on the state you are in. A small board does not need a long list of powers to make you reconsider a plan. Watching how a single action reorganizes your options is often more useful than looking for a faster move.
