Football Manager 27 tackles the problem of too many decisions
An official interview describes delegation and tactical shortcuts as ways to enter a detailed simulation.
What was announced
In Xbox Wire's October 28 interview, Sports Interactive's Ant Farley explains how Football Manager 27 lets players delegate responsibilities to staff. He also describes Tactical Tweaks, which groups multiple tactical changes into a single action during matches. The interview emphasizes patience because sensible managerial decisions can still produce a defeat in an unpredictable simulation.
Why the idea caught our attention
Complexity is easier to learn when you can choose where to spend attention. Delegating a system creates room to understand another one, provided you can still see enough feedback to learn why a decision mattered. A useful approach to any management simulation is to choose one question for a short run: are resources running out, is a plan creating opportunities, or is execution the weak point? Changing everything at once makes the answer harder to identify. Grouped commands offer convenience, but curious players also need to understand what those commands change. A shortcut teaches most effectively when it compresses input without hiding cause and effect.
