Co-op digging asks a surprisingly good question: who does what next?
The newly announced A Game About Digging a Hole Together gives a simple resource loop a social twist.
What was announced
Xbox's October 20 indie showcase introduced A Game About Digging a Hole Together. The announced loop involves digging at a beach with friends, collecting and selling resources, improving equipment, and searching for treasure. Xbox lists December 4, 2026 for Series X|S, PC and Game Pass.
Why the idea caught our attention
A shared task can add decisions without adding a complicated control scheme. Should everyone expand the same route, or should one person handle resources while another explores? Does an equipment upgrade solve the current bottleneck, or merely make an easy job faster? Those are planning questions rather than reflex tests. We like the idea of a group checking its assumptions together before committing effort. The announcement does not establish how demanding its economy or teamwork will be, but its simple loop is a useful reminder: a clear goal can still create interesting choices when time, tools and attention must be shared.
