Xbox's October listing highlights a first-person puzzler built around black holes and changing architecture.

REPORTED FACTS

What was announced

Xbox Wire's October 9 release listing included Desolus for October 15. Its description presents a first-person puzzle game in a Gothic city divided between past and future, using black holes and travel between times to reconnect architecture. The listing names Smart Delivery and Xbox Play Anywhere support.

OUR EDITORIAL PERSPECTIVE

Why the idea caught our attention

When a space changes between two states, remembering a route is only half the work. You also need to remember which version of that route exists. A useful mental model is to pair each landmark with a condition: this doorway is useful in one time, this platform in another. That turns apparently impossible geometry into a sequence of smaller questions. It is the same discipline as tracking a board before and after a switch. The announcement suggests that kind of reasoning, but it does not by itself show how clearly the finished game teaches it.
